Introduction to Abstract Art
Workshop details

Access your “raw visual language” that emerges through colour, texture, shape and personal narrative.
Students will be introduced to a systematic process that will enable you to develop sustainable methods in building consistent bodies of expressive personal works over time using a variety of different materials.
During this workshop we will take a look at what makes non-figurative art powerful including:
- Scale
- Composition
- Mark Making
- Expression & Story
- Colour
- Texture
This experimental workshop has a psychological component that helps the participant that helps the participant gain a deeper understanding about why they are drawn to art making and what the story they wish to tell is without words but only with form.
Excellent for all levels of art making experience and for people who feel stuck in their creative process. Taught by Melbourne Studio of Art Director Dena Lester who blends art making with Shadow Work psychotherapy to aid people in articulating their stories through art.

Basic materials are provided in the cost of each workshop. Students are welcome to bring their own if preferred.
Introductory workshops offer the student a unique opportunity to experience different modalities of art making in a structured and accessible manner. You will be surprised at what you can learn in a short workshop.
