Advanced Young Artists

In this class, participants will be introduced to a diverse array of artistic materials, encompassing various drawing media and acrylic paints. Alongside the exploration of artists, art movements, and formal art techniques inherent in all our programs, students in this class will also receive focused instruction in cultivating critical thinking skills and honing their powers of observation. This emphasis on critical thinking and observation will play a pivotal role in shaping their artistic education and fostering their creative growth.

Students enrolled in this course will need a materials kit as an integral part of their education, teaching them to take responsibility for the care and upkeep of their artistic tools and supplies.

During Term Two, the course will center on the theme of portraiture. Participants will delve into the realm of advanced classical and contemporary portraiture techniques, culminating in a final project where they will create a painting on canvas, showcasing their newfound skills and creativity.

• Students should arrive no more than 5 minutes before class.
• Children must attend independently; parents cannot stay.
• Please be aware that materials may stain clothing.
• Make-up classes for this course are not available.
