Introduction to Oil Painting

This structured workshop is designed as an introduction to various tools and concepts commonly used in oil painting.

Working from photo references, each student will receive individual critiques and suggestions to help guide them along their painting. Some of the learning points that will be covered:

• Relating proportions in compositions
• Relating colour temperature
• Understanding the difference between hue value and chroma
• Familiarisation of oil painting equipment
• Developing a resolved artwork with learnt techniques

Please note:
Basic materials are provided in the cost of each workshop. Students are welcome to bring their own if preferred.

Introductory workshops offer the student a unique opportunity to experience different modalities of art making in a structured and accessible manner. You will be surprised at what you can learn in a short workshop.
