Course details

Our program for 8-12 year olds at Melbourne Studio of Art is designed to enhance your child's art-making skills through a series of engaging projects. These projects focus on teaching important lessons in technique, expression, and art history. During this pivotal age group, we observe significant progress in the child's ability to tackle and complete art projects, leaving them advanced in their artistic skills compared to their peers. Join us in nurturing your child's artistic development and growth!

In Term Two, our focus in the Melbourne Studio of Art Young Artists programs will be on exploring shape and space through a variety of drawing exercises, painting studies, and collage projects inspired by Matisse and Picasso. Students will develop an understanding of viewing the world and objects as a combination of shapes, enhancing their skills in translating their observations into expressive and articulate images. Join us for a term filled with creative exploration and artistic growth!
